Vocal and Harp Duo Recital

November 17, 2016

Since the age of Greco-Roman arts, the combination of human voice and sound of the plucked strings brings healing and comfort, and has been a symbol of hope and beauty. Let us welcome two young ladies, soprano Jessica Ng and harpist Judy Ho, to Musica del Cuore this Friday, and may the exceptional timbers mend our weary hearts.

Singapore-based artist Sokkuan Tye provides art direction. Also featured: Chloei Hew (wardrobe).

In/Between at Harpy Place

March 26, 2016

We are a disparate group of artists with different backgrounds that often feels the weight of labels and categorization. This performance is an opportunity for us to stretch our artistic muscles, and find points of overlap and communication between each other’s art. How do South African composers navigate the intricacies of Chinese poetry in translation? What meaning do Chinese musicians ascribe to Afrikaans? How does an illustrator work with theatre? etc. In Betwixt, Between, we are interested in playing the grey area; we seek to embrace ambiguity
